Privacy
Your data, plainly.
What this site collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can make me do about it. Last updated 27 September 2026.
Who I am
This site is run by Andrew East, a sole trader based near Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland. For anything to do with your personal information, email hello@andreweastfit.com. I'm the one who reads it.
The short version
- The website sets no cookies and runs no tracking or advertising.
- The free guides download without an email address.
- The only form is the mailing list, and it asks for your email address and nothing else.
- Otherwise, the only personal information I get is what you choose to email me.
If you email me
I'll have your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else. I don't add you to a mailing list and I don't pass it on.
The legal basis is legitimate interests: you've contacted me and I have a reasonable interest in answering. If you'd rather I didn't keep it once we're done, say so and I'll delete it.
I keep emails for up to 12 months after our last contact, then delete them. The exception is if you become a client, in which case a separate agreement will tell you what I keep and for how long.
Please don't send me medical details by email. If they become relevant, we'll deal with them properly at the time.
Just visiting
Like every website, this one can't be delivered without some technical data changing hands. When your browser loads a page:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes your IP address and basic browser details to deliver it and protect it from attacks.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
I don't see any of this about you as a person, and I don't use it to identify anyone.
Who else handles it
I use a small number of services that process data on my behalf:
- Cloudflare for hosting, and for forwarding email sent to my address.
- Google for the inbox the email lands in, and for the site's fonts.
- Brevo for the mailing list.
Cloudflare and Google are US companies and Brevo is based in the EU, so your data may be processed outside the UK. Each is required to protect it to a UK standard through recognised legal safeguards.
I don't sell personal information, and I never will.
If you join the mailing list
I'll have your email address, the date you signed up, and the fact that you confirmed it. That's all the form asks for.
What you get: one email when a new guide or resource goes up, and nothing else. No selling, and your address is never passed to anyone.
The legal basis is your consent. After you sign up you get one email asking you to confirm, and you're only added once you click the link in it.
You can leave whenever you like, using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing me. Your address is removed from the list straight away.
The list is run by Brevo, a French email service. Like most email services, it records whether each email is opened and which links are clicked. I use that only to see whether the emails are worth sending.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- show you the personal information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it
- stop or limit what I do with it, or object to it
- give you a copy in a format you can take elsewhere
Email hello@andreweastfit.com. It costs nothing, and I'll respond within one month.
If you're not happy
Tell me first and I'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If what this site does with your data changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top will say when.
